This weeks crossword has posed many difficulties! I have now two clues left. 47d Past state brought woe (5) A-O-E and 49d A love for twins, perhaps (5) A-I-E. I have tried all fitting words but cannot reconcile anything. Help!

I presumed it was 'alike' but is like really the same as love or am I being stupid?

not stupid at at all - i agree.
I guess people do say love when they mean like tho("i
lurve your dress" type of thing).
