After last weeks boasting, this week I need a big nudge. I have completed the grid, got most of the letters but now I am baffled….

A counting rhyme - 'one, two...'.

Same here - have the coward, and all the various endings from the counting rhyme, but mystified by the "twelve followers"

Got a full grid and the rhyme but am blank on locating the missing female and her followers - which is rather frustrating! Is it really a single entry ie a clue answer that changes 2 letters?
2 letter synonym for Skylark? - I can think of one meaning the setter (from the setter's point of view).... but that's not helping so far!

Granama1, a single entry changes 2 letters (I think you have this from your description) causing a crossing entry to also change into the female coward (one of the rhyme endings, and appropriately placed as the focus of the puzzle) ... but the 12 followers elude me
