Thanks goodness, paul! I would have found it very difficult to pick between the contenders. They would have been 2,2,2 at the weekend!

Congrats MPRS (and all the other excellent contestants). The winning entry is:
Female to stop hesitation and get a guitar. (6)

Your prize was suggested by one of tyke's prizes from last weekend, a clip featuring the most famous fender in Britain.

I'm honored to get the win with all of the great entries. Thanks to Tyke, PaulH, and PaulM for the votes. Thanks, too, to Chris for hosting and for the prize. I'm definitely a Mark Knopfler fan, and also loved the movie Local Hero. What an appropriate song to end a show.

Apologies again to spike. I should have known an old punk like you would use the guitar as the definition. I already have next week's word chosen to hono(u)r you.

The suggested follow-on on YouTube of the BBC4 programme "The Shadows at sixty" is worth a watch (though it is about an hour). There's quite a lot about the guitar. Cliff Richard ordered it from America for Hank to play - it was the first Stratocaster in Britain. When Hank moved to Australia, somehow it stayed behind, and Bruce Welch has custody of it!

@Mprs

Thanks, but there really was no need to apologise!
You are correct. When I saw the word, I immediately thought of Johnny and Dee Dee Ramone.

I'm intrigued about next week......
