I found this quite a struggle. I could only place some of the misprints once I knew what they were AND knew the answer to the clue. 36A seems rather unfair in that respect. The end game took me a while until the PDM on why BOTH first and last items in the sequence were initially omitted.

After the Listener yesterday I felt I was flying through this one! It took a few clues to get into but I spotted the sequence reasonably early on.
I misread the instructions so highlighted both first and last elements which gave me a head start on (i) when I addressed it.
I thought 37a was quite neat although 'brawny' is a bit clumsy but needs the y for the surface. 9d could be improved I think. The 'grey' in 17 raised a smile.

I'm surprised by the paucity of comments for such a fine puzzle.

This was a lovely puzzle with a charming and witty endgame.

Identifying some of the misprints proved troublesome and I had to reverse-engineer a few once I twigged the theme.

The endgame also caused a few problems and it took me an age to spot all the highlighted bits.

All good fun though so a big thanks to Nutmeg:-)
