" made a replica" = COPIED minus the "pi" for "good" leaves COED

Pi, short for 'pious', meaning good, holy etc is used a lot in crosswords - and not very often (maybe never) in the real world!

Hi Tom, "pi" can also means "irrational" from the maths and, as Malone says, it's worth remembering as they crop up with a fair degree of frequency:-)
