Re 23d, sure enough it appeared as recently as March in a Puck puzzle and before that in a Vlad puzzle last October (the ‘Dido Harding’ one, if you remember that ;-)

I found that tough. Finished but not confident about 15 and 18 whose parsing eludes me, especially 15 which seems a strange synonym for commentator?

I agree about 15. 18 is a slang term (Liverpudlian?) for "I'm off" around a tatty priece of cloth and "on".

Hi Cymro,
18 is a four letter word, or perhaps it’s written 2-2, you might say when leaving (slightly old fashioned) outside (without) three letters for tatty garment and on from the clue.
I was ok with defn of 15.

Didn't enjoy this as much as the last 2 weeks.

Stuck on a few. 10A is the name of a person I think? And 6D ends with an I (I think?) so 19A starts with an I?

Can't see 1Am 13D and the only thing that fits 23D I can't work out from the clue.

10 is the name of a person - not a living one.
6d doesn't end in I - check the anagram
1a is a petticoat, then an attendant
13 is a Christmas/New Year activity. Cutter backwards, then something you would do on water.
23 move a letter down froma country

Ah I had the ending in O version of 6D as most likely earlier on but changed my mind, didn't see it was an anagram :)

I see from earlier in the thread 10A is correct I didn't know that one for "dry" either so I'll have to remember that.

I also worked with someone a while back called 10A and I hope he's still living ;) And yes, of course he was from the country you are thinking of (a very popular name there apparently)

No edit post I see. Got 1A now that means 3D is wrong for me (I had French for goodbye which is also a painting, couldn't parse it but couldn't find anything else that fitted). Still can't see anything that fits back to wikipedia then I guess

For 3d you need a type of painting(3 letters) inside UP reversed
