Cool hearing one may succeed (3)

Looks like no more entries are forthcoming and I need to go out so I’ll have to wind up proceedings a bit early.

Firstly, welcome Whetstone! (Are you near Totteridge by the way? If so I happened to be in the Orange Tree last week…)

Well you guys haven’t made it easy for me! Gem after gem. After much consideration I have finally whittled it down to a grand podium of stars.
Approaching the podium were;
Jon’s homage to Mozart’s doormat 3, Doug with his educational 11, Fiery’s subtractive 18, and Mattrom’s semi-cadged 26,

Just missing out was Paul H’s elegant 28.

In third place is Buddy with his IRA takedown at 4 (no, they don’t know where you live….).
In second place is Aristo with his reassuring prediction at 15.
In 1st place (how could I resist) is
Jimmy’s corporate boardroom-emptier at 27;

“Chairman breaks wind?”

Congrats, jimmy. The type of juvenile humor that we love around here. Well judged, paul. I'd say you picked the three best for the podium. I wasn't sure if buddy's referred to the IRA over there, or Individual Retirement Account over here. It works either way.
