Granama, my entry for 15 A is a plural of a word in Chambers, a word that doesn't end in 'o'.

Lumen, your U is wrong for that one. The answer involves an anagram, includes the usual 'lake', with the definition being 'charm' (noun).


5. A four-letter word for 'wind' (weather) loses the last letter, the third word in the clue loses a letter to give the next two letters, then the usual 'square'.

Thanks malone, I now have 5a. But that was a pretty tough clue I think? No I haven’t been thinking about it for 3 hours, just back from work. But even with your kind help, took me a while.
Still not seeing where the other five letters in 42 come from, or what the extra letter is.
And looking for another African race beginning Z but not ending U!

Defn is just "race" not "African race"; not a race of people, but a verb.
