Yes, a lovely puzzle. It wasn't too difficult, but elegant and well-crafted. Did you get to use your coloured pens, Brendan?

Hi Malone,

You know I did:-) Not only with the 6 letter word but also on the insertions in the 5 "normal" clues - i know it doesn't ask you to but ...... I just can't help myself 😃

All done but, as ever, one niggling parse/solve. 35a No reason to broadcast people who sin(g) rarely.

Can't find anything in Chambers that fits convincingly.

Granama, they're guilty/bad people, I think the 'rarely' echoes the Chambers definition, it's an unusual word, hence 'rare' in the listing, (rather than referring to the number of times they sin).

Hi Granama,

"No" from the clue then a 5 letter homophone/"broadcast" of reason - definition is a rare world for "people who sin"

Thanks Malone. I suppose a guilty person is a sinner and it does work with the 'broadcast' etc. It was either that or nine days of prayer! I think I was mentally fixed on rarely sinning.
Neat that all the 5 themed clues fit the definition - the first one was the one that caused the PDM.

Thanks, Granama1. It wasn't the neatest, most elegant of clues - and 'guilty' people must have done something wrong, sinned.
