Praver's verse, a line ignored by eg Brunnhilde (5)
K-R-E
I do the Times crossword (print copy) in bed every night. I quite like to be stuck on the last one or two clues, so that I am not bored when trying to get to sleep. The above clue was one such last night. I was sure I would have to Google Praver and Brunnhilde in the morning.
I have thus just discovered that Tori Praver is an American model well known for her swimsuits. I should probably have known that Brunnhilde is a Valkyrie.
That was when the penny dropped. Kyrie - a prayer!
The v in Praver is clear, so it's either a typo or a quirk of the printing process. The Times crossword very rarely has an error, though we did have 'towing (sic) the line' the other day.
