Caught audibly without a doubt. (5)

A little misdirection here. Audibly is not a homophone indicator, but a synonym of aloud. So c(aught) + aloud - a, with doubt being the definition, as in a cloud of doubt.

I really enjoyed the creativity in construction this week. Here are all the ways you broke up the challenge...
cl + duo
c + loud
cl + oud
cud + lo
doc + duel
cd + lou
l + o + cuds
scud + lo
cs + loud
lo(w) + cud
odd clue*
could*
concluded - cn*

Honourable mentions:
paul@9 - Oud will go on my list of unusual three letter instruments next to Gue.
fiery@16 - loved the musical references... see below.
jimmy@19 - the only subtractive anagram this week.
marty@25 - liked the Aristophanes reference... a little of that in one of the prizes.

Podium positions in no particular order:
PeterM@17 for ‘Jersey food stores’, though I wished it had been ‘firsts of...’.
Tyke@12 - a well disguised anagram.
PaulH@28 (continuing the cow theme) clever use of cud and lo(w).

Winner:
Mattrom@10 another cud-based clue but cleverly &lit-ish alluding to cloud computing. This is definitely how I use the cloud.

Repository of regurgitated stuff saved to look at (5)
