Apologies rosalind. When teaching science I am incredibly careful and always employ gender neutral examples in exercises to ensure inclusivity. Come the weekend all my training goes out the window.

and sorry I mentioned it! What I actually meant was I hadn't writen an even vaguely suggestive clue, though I was trying to work in Churchill's remark when he asked someone's name. On being told it was Ball, he is reported to have said "How very singular"
