I have guessed/assumed these answers according to cross letters, of which I am pretty confident, and basic synonyms, but the "cryptic" element eludes me.

7. Piece of meat I put in line (8) Answer NOISETTE (?)
Letters are N _ I _ E _ _ E - alternatives please?

8. It's somehow really dry inside recently (8) Answer: LATTERLY (?)
Letters are L _ T _ E _ _ Y

I see the 'somehow' anagram indicator for REALLY, but that leaves me with "TT"...

Am I barking up the wrong 'rete' ?

7 I think is " I SET" (I put) in NOTE (line?). Not very good

8 TT is TeeTotal or "dry"
