I don't care for puns usually, but that's a good one.

Syzygy, no - it was 13 D I really liked, simply because it was something completely new to me. I immediately wanted an opportunity to use it myself, though it might be some time before I get the chance. 21 D was quite good fun too.

Ah, I like 17 dn too, though I never would have got it without the first three letters of the second word and the unclued hint!

37 . The first word is the definition. The 'initially' helped me.
