Good evening and thanks to the eleven cluesmiths who responded giving me 30 clues to consider. Good to see ginge posting again with the usual aplomb.
Within an hour of starting there were 3 clues that showed an economical straightforwardness that would be difficult for anyone to better - I refer to fiery's #2, paul's #5 and chrise's #4.
A transylvanian theme emerged and whilst fun none of them managed to quite strike me right in the heart, no reflection on you guys.
