When I chose the word, the construction P + L + AGUE was the first that came to mind, but it was still left to our runaway winner, Rossim, to create the clever surface we see in:

I should finish reading The Plague after all these years, but I did read L'Etranger in my French class in college. The Cure based their first single on it.
