Hi, can't parse 20a Fibres a touch hard in place for horses (7)

Pat, a touch
H, horse.

... and Towpath, a place for horses.

Sorry to correct, malone, but the H is from "hard". The definition is "place for horses" (towing canal barges.

ChrisE, that's what I meant to type - my mind wandered off to thinking about 'tow-haired', and wondering if I was imagining that!

Lord Peter Wimsey is described as "tow-haired" in Busman's honeymoon. (Actually, "hair as light as tow", if I remember correctly.)
