16a - a tenor (or other singer) could be a chan*er.
All complete but can't parse 25d - Show concern.....
I can see that part but can't relate the inserted bit to 'ring'.

granama1 - a phrase meaning 'show concern' (3,6) has the 'ring' at the end removed.

Ah, thanks Jack. I was too tied up with 'concealed' meaning inserted/surrounded by rather than deleted.

I have it all completed except 1d which I just can't understand. Any hints?
