A big 'thank you' for all your votes. It's a spot of sunlight in this week of torrential rain. My old slate roof has just sprung a new leak, but at least I'm not flooded out.
Chrise, you may rest assured. (I did wonder if I should put a disclaimer.) I love cats, but living on a busy road, I decided it wouldn't be safe to own one here.
Buddy, thank you for an interesting challenge and my prizes. I've been watching "How the Victorians Built Britain" lately. Even though the Golden Gate was later, it's amazing that some of the projects 'got off the ground'.
Cheers till next weekend.

[mattrom - I saw an article in the paper yesterday about the mouse plague in NSW, asking for floods to get rid of them. Be careful what you ask for! Best wishes that you all can survive the apocalyptic rains you seem to be getting.]

Very nice, mattrom. Thanks to buddy for hosting and to spike and dorrien for the votes.

I recently read about a study that concluded that cats are selfish. Who knew?

I've been following the 'cat' discussion and remembered this joke.

A German Shepherd, Doberman and a cat have died.
All three are faced with God who wants to know what they believe in.
The German shepherd says: "I believe in discipline training and loyalty to my master."
"Good," says God. "Then sit down on my right side. Doberman, what do you believe in?"
The Doberman answers: "I believe in the love, care and protection of my master."
Ah," said God. "You may sit to my left."
Then he looks at the cat and asks, "And what do you believe in?"

The cat answers: "I believe you're sitting in my seat."
