I need some help on the end game. Have one of the safe's contents (I think ) but can't see the other two. Are they anagrams?

if you've carried out the "dial" movements correctly then read across the "unches" in rows 3 + 5, 7 + 9 & 11 + 13 you'll find the "contents".

Would appreciate a hint for 7 across please.

3 letter short-haired dog minus its last letter + 4 letter word for the dog/(or any animal) toileting itself .... minus a letter all reversed

Thanks a lot kirky for your prompt reply. I now realise I am short of one L or R. Also cannot see which pairs relate to which ring. I must be missing something fairly obvious. Doh!

the pairs come in clue order so the first pair from 7a and 12a relates to the outer ring ...
which pairs have you got from the clues ...then we can see which pair you are missing??

7a &12a ;14a &23a;24a &25a; 27a &2d;9d &13d ;18d &19d .
I've got 'c' for 20d but can't see an L or R to go with it. Maybe my pairs are'nt quite correct.

If c is right for your last pair, it doesn’t really matter whether it moves left or right as it will come back to where it started.
