Answer to - GROUP JOINS SMALL ROUTINE 4,4, 6 please

From what I remember this clue should read:

Group joins small routine game (4,4,6)

and the answer is a game called NINE MEN'S MORRIS where NINE MEN make a group, S is small, and MORRIS is a dance or routine.
