16A - Country singer's part in a little charade (5) ?H??A. Could be CHINA?

26A - A star really good in a theatre piece (4) ?E?A. VEGA perhaps?

I can see how you could get CHINA, but the clue wouldn't get past the editor in any of the crosswords I do.
The only thing I can see going for VEGA is that it's a star!

Hi Chrise! You probably see CHINA in the same obscure way that I do (IN as part of singer & CHA as little charade).

As regards VEGA - to this compiler V=really (sometimes) & G=good in EA which 2 letters appear in theatre. If correct, then this clue is even worse than the one for CHINA!

I agree with your VEGA parse ... `EA` being a theatre piece!
The Skeleton is a bit different - and not to everyone`s liking - but it`s part of my Sunday routine, along with other family members!
