Just the one clue bamboozling me today.

26ac Other revels too wild? (8)

I have T***D*R*. Third letter is probably E.

Chambers only gives TREADERS if I use E as the third letter but I can’t make any sense of it.

Without the E I quite like THUNDERY for “wild” but that then leaves me unable to come up with any explanation.

Theodore.
"Revels too" an anagram of Roosevelt.

Many thanks! Don’t think I would ever have got there. The combination of extremely obtuse definition and proper nouns defeated me!

I looked at this but couldn't solve it - congrats, rusty!
Is the anagram indicator "other" or "wild"? In either case, there doesn't seem to be a definition, so is the puzzle themed?
