Hi William,
The Chambers dictionary and thesaurus apps for Mac work really well on an iPad. I use them every day. I think you can get the two as a bundle relatively cheaply.
There was a thread recently when we discussed the pros and cons of the different software solutions, but for iPad I think this is the best
Hi
I`ve recently treated myself to a HP Chromebook - it has a 14" screen - I`ve installed Chambers Dictionary & Thesaurus apps on it.
It`s very nice to use and I can print out the results easily - I baulked at selling my soul to `google` but am pleased with it - my eyes aren`t great nowadays so I struggle with a phone screen!
The Chambers Dictionary app resolves anagrams and has a range of search options for words where you have some crossers. The Chambers annexes (used quite a bit by Listener and EV setters) are also available via the help tab. It’s been my vade mecum for Listener, EV and Azed puzzles for a long time.
Thanks for these reply. I have transferred the Chambers Dictionary and the Thesaurus. However the one that wouldn't transfer was the Chambers Crossword Dictionary which was a real gem. Sadly it seems it has been discontinued as an App for Apple.
Any other suggestions would be very welcome. What other applications do solvers use?
