I do not understand the answer to my last clue.

For 5D Disorganised or incomplete state (11) the letters are S?R?P?I?E?S. The only word I can find that fits the letters is SCRAPPINESS - an inclination to fight or quarrel. I realise a metaphorical meaning could fit the clue but I feel this is too far-fetched. What do you think?
