I had to cold solve 46 clues before I could make a start on filling the grid and IMHO that is bordering on the ridiculous. Having said that, the finished grid is a masterpiece in that it clearly depicts the thematic items, and in the correct sequential order. Now all I need is the PDM on the very last instruction, which if history tells me, will happen straight after this post.

...........and it has, which makes the finished grid even better. I made an assumption on what seemed the obvious choice and checking Chambers quickly confirmed my guess was correct.

Having long enjoyed the Master’s “Araubeticals”, I had no gripes with the necessary cold solving. And the cluing was almost always sufficiently generous to provide a challenge without complete frustration. Whatever the experience, the elegance of the construction and the match of the final grid to the “real thing” was a fine reward for a few hours’ effort. Thank you, Aedites.

I agree the fairly generous clueing made this slightly less of a slog, but still not my cup of tea. I'm not the strongest cold solver so generally need some help from the grid. Solved about 30 quite quickly, took a few hours to grind through another ten then ground to a complete halt. Another hour trying to fit what I had in, a moment of inspiration as to the theme and the rest fell into place.

I enjoyed this one despite the cold solving. Not completely cold as the answers are in alphabetical order.

Not a fan of the subject and did not enjoy having to read about this nonsence to try to decide which square I should highlight. I have chosen an obvious one but cannot be certain it is correct.

Gitto, I’d be very interested to know about your PDM. I really can’t see what’s required, unless we each highlight our own particular square.

Trouble is Dylan that’s a symbol not a letter so can’t be right.

Many thanks, tatters, for making this available. A tricky but enjoyable work-out.
