Can’t work out 11ac.

Book 8 beast (4)

8d is Ovine

Looks like NEAT to me for “beast” (I have the N and the A) but can’t parse the rest of it. Did wonder about NT for book (New Testament) but that leaves EA unexplained.

B+OVINE = bovine; NEAT is an OX or bovine beast?

Doh. I feel such a fool now... ;-)

I sympathise, tim - I looked at the clue and thought "ovine" - that's cows, isn't it? No - it's sheep!
