Worth a try Buddy. The CCCWC uses a similar system which some may be familiar with

Well done, Buddy - glad the clue I voted for won :) Could be interesting to try next week, you'll need your spreadsheet...
Thanks to Paulh, Mprs and Paul for your votes, and to Spike and Jimmy for the likes.
Thanks also to FJ for the challenge and the clip.

Well done Buddy, bad luck Mattrom! Thanks for the vote Spike2. Enjoyed the music Fj - the only other Syd I know of was original PF - as some of you might know I`ve not moved on from 60s/70s music! 🎸

Congrats, buddy, and commiserations, mattrom. It was a close choice for me between you two and jono, so I sympathize with fieryjack's predicament. Thanks to buddy also for the vote and to tyke for the like.

Suggestion for voting to just use straight Borda with everyone ranking top 3 or 5 or whatever you decide. That would be simpler. Yes, Borda did say that "my system is only for honest men," but I feel that we are all honest men, except for those of us who are honest women. But if you are committed to your plan, I think it would be an interesting experiment.

I was remiss in not directly thanking fj for the hosting job. As I mentioned, it was indeed a tough one to judge.

mprs, any preference voting system is fraught with peril (thanks Kenneth Arrow) but my proposal allows for strength of preference to be taken into account (so with say 2 favorites 5-1 signals something different than 4-2). So it is a grand experiment, which may fail grandly! As mattrom said, I will be warming up the spreadsheet.

Congrats Buddy. Whatever your choice - your wish is our command.
Would a simple 3,2,1 be easier?
Thanks for the vote Tyke and for the likes Mattrom and Jono.
Good job Fj

Buddy, on the subject of preference, I prefer the GS impossibility criteria to Arrow. I'm keen to see how your system works next week, as long as you're doing all the work, as someone observed earlier. And people were afraid I was going to be the one to make the competition too mathematical. ; )
