Orinoco and D for Germany form an anagram of a word referring to birds bills (particular type).
Man is the definition in the Chigwell one. But think of men in the chess sense.

20D You are looking for a Man. Chigwell and similar usually means S.E. but not here. Cast your mind about.

14d. An agent in a crossword is often a traveling salesman known as a 3 letter abbreviation. That circles a superlative meaning least repressed - not an obvious word I must admit.
16d r in the middle of a disused word for enemy.
21a part anagram of after plus a word meaning to do.

4ac Definition = district; middle 4 letters apparently cockney rhyming slang for 'bum' as in 'backside.' 1st & last letters common abbreviation for 'boozer' as in place to drink.

5d Def = channel; programme about hospital refers to a TV medical programme featuring George Clooney.
