Hello! I’m brand new to the forum - is there an editor I can submit a query to, or do we just operate in happy anarchy? I would like to post a link to a new source of wonderful monthly cryptics with clever endgames.

Before I do, want to check that is kosher.

Bathmatters, I'm Norah and I run the Forum on behalf of Ash. I checked with him last night and he says that unfortunately you cannot post your link as he does not allow advertising or promotion of other sites on the Forum.

We certainly don't live in happy anarchy, I have several regulars who keep me up to date with any problems which may arise and I deal with them appropriately. It was one of these kind people who alerted me to your query as I do not have time to read every thread on the Forum.

I hope you enjoy being part of our Crossword community.

Thank you Norah - I understand, and I appreciate your helping me figure out what the policies are.

I see four or five puzzles that the regulars enjoy - the Listener, the WSJ, etc. and I didn’t know if it was appropriate to point out another ongoing monthly puzzle (certainly not one I have financial/creative ties to!)

I’m so grateful for this forum - I’ve never done crosswords “in company” before, and it is fun to watch how other people’s grey matter works - I am gobsmacked by everyone’s speed!

Bathmatters, the Forum is a way for users to get help with crosswords mainly published in the press but from other sources as well. Users do not usually supply any links but merely ask questions.

Ash strongly discourages links of any sort, even though they appear from time to time, because our system is unable to verify the source of such links. If users follow a link, they do so at their own peril.

As I said earlier, he does not allow advertising or promotion of other sites on the Forum.

I understand - thank you!

If I need help with a clue in another puzzle, is it ok to just post the clue and ask for help with solving it? (No link, just the clue itself?)

Bathmatters, all sorts of clues, from all sorts of papers and magazines, appear here all the time so you should feel free to ask for help! As well as the clue, it's good to give the letter count and details of any letters you've got. Hope that H?L?S (5).
