An enjoyable anniversary puzzle from proXimal but I have one very slight 'niggle' if you can even call it that. The letter to be moved in the next to the bottom row has to come from the first column unless an obscure surname is the final answer in the last column. However moving the letter from the first column affects a thematic entry, something which seems a pity. Am I missing something as usual?
The only clue I can't parse is 28 across. I've got the missing letter, but can't for the life of me see how the only answer that fits relates to the clue without it.
PS. I've moved the letters to the last column, thus spelling the individual's name, and changed the 6 thematic entries, but how does that "show..... the effect of the communication on him"?
My understanding was that because he's been removed, it shows the ultimate effect of the words in the communication.
It's a simple take, but I'm not seeing anything more convoluted at play (though it would not be the first time I've overlooked a deeper meaning to something in one of these puzzles...).
