I need a bit of help with the parsing of the following clues. I think I know some of the answers but I cannot parse them. Thank you in advance.

11) Former religious rite from Egypt originally dividing bread (5) D???H
16) Olympian getting consistently good ratings? (6) ?T?E?A
21) Poles over-hasty to run away, displaying Jock's abusive language (5) S?A?H. Think it's snash but can't parse it.
23) Clever expedient disheartened magistrate (4) ?O?E. Think Doge but can't parse it.
27) Sidney's vehicles they cannot discuss, not initially. (4) ?T?S.

You're right about 23. Clever expedient = dodge. Disheartened so take out the middle letter.

Telos, all I can come up with is that Mutes would be 'unable to discuss', then drop the first letter. I know Utes, utility vehicles, as it's come up before in crosswords.
