Another excellent puzzle in what's been a great run of late. Despite knowing many of the titles, I never actually knew the name of the duo so it was good to look them up.

There's one I can't fully parse...

17a - The answer is clear and I can see the anagram of "means" but why is the rest "classical number"?

'Sex' is Latin for six - a classical number.

I agree with your comments. I did not know them either but enjoyed looking them up. Only clue not understood was the Nice one.

Nice puzzle. I'm all done apart from 32a Delaying end of operation, wash up (5). Cannot decide if it is verb active, verb past, or noun. Am I missing something?
