Jar etagere in pieces after ends were hacked off (5)

An etagere is a French set of shelves for displaying ornaments.

(There is an acute and a grave accent missing, I am unable to put them in).

So far we have 49 clues from 16 industrious setters. I don't think it will be an easy choice when voting opens in about 30 minutes.
