6D - An animal turned around has heart (4) G?A? Must be GOAT but how does it parse?

can only think `turned` = `got` (around `a` = has heart)

as in `he turned nasty` = `he got nasty`

a bit tenuous methinks!

My aged mother-in-law does this "crossword" and I was helping out this morning. Some of the clues are a disgrace to the genre - quite a lot of "guess what I'm thinking". It was a joy to get home to an afternoon with the Inquisitor and EV!
