I agree with your commentary about my later clue, but when I realized that vacillation and vaccination were so close, I became obsessed with forcing a clue out of it. I wasn't happy with the insertion of the c and n either though. However, I thought I could bribe my way into gold with the college sports reference, but you're too honest for that.
