Lose sounds like (reportedly) Loos, more than one can, toilet
Caste sounds like Cast, shed.

Hagleymum, you're welcome. Chambers defines 'can' as lavatory as 'slang', but just slang, not American slang. Can = buttocks is defined as 'North American slang', so I think can/lavatory must be more common than you thought (or would like!).

Malone, I think what hagleymum meant is that "loo" is not so familiar to us yanks. Indeed, "can" is not an uncommon slang term for bathroom.
