Why is ct a penny?
I'd take it as cent.

In the USA a cent is often called a penny.

Hi Rossim, I believe penny is US slang for a cent (derived from the British penny) and cent can be abbreviated to ct so to get from penny to ct is a two stage process (for me anyway).

Ps. Anyone know what happened to Clueless?

hi jono
it's les40's. he's quite busy; on the other hand he hasn't won (or, indeed, competed) for ages, so it may just have slipped his mind!

Hi Jono & Chrise

Seems I`m not the only one with pen and sheet of A4 poised ready for action!
Perhaps if Les40 doesn`t appear shortly you might do the honours Chrise?

I originally had the clue with cent, but changed it to penny to make it less obvious. Pedagogue and Jono are correct that penny and cent are synonymous in the US.

It seems several of us were quivering in anticipation of Clueless.
