Wow! Thanks everyone for the welcome back, cheers to aristo for the judging and the clip with its smorgasbord of timber delights ( I feel that aristo may have remembered my passion of woodcraft)
No, I've not gone back into the business with drug & alcohol services, been enjoying time off. Me and my partner had a new arrival in September, a beautiful baby girl so my life has got very busy now for reasons I'm sure you'll understand. I do have a new business plan for post-lockdown working for myself in a similar capacity but we'll have to wait and see what happens with that.
To mathprof, I was regular for a long while and as Chris said, I used to run the joint effort which was a mammoth task but we'll worth it, just didn't have the time when I started working back in the day. I joined when I was 40 (hence Les40) but should now change my name to Les50.
Had some great fun on here and I did miss the banter, nice to see there's still plenty of the old names and excited to meet the newer members, it's a great site and it served me well over the years, looking forward to setting next week's word, I'm gonna hit you with a cracker, something that may have multiple meanings to generate plenty of diversity. I know that the clues and the feedback will be nourishing to my cryptically depleted great matter.
Anyway, the clue.
Aristo, The whole clue is based around "Texas Hold ' em poker' 'the river' in my clue relates to the fifth card laid down after 'the flop' and 'the turn' cards and alludes to the 'made hand' (poker term) only being 'made' on the final card (the river) with a club to make the flush (hand)
"a deft shuffle' was one of those magical gimmes that only come once in a while.
Glad to be back folks and speak soon.
