I think he missed a trick in the wordplay - he could have referenced another famous Dame, Muriel Spark!

What am I missing?

Answers if more than one word are difficult to research when I don't know the letters-per-word. So 10a — A page publicly she inserted on one side in the main, spread with various printing inks. — has me flummoxed. I have - a?apou?e? - and embarrassed to say I used to be close to the printing trade!

My other blind spot is 14d — Dyestuff to feel as due, treat from Scots as payment once. I have - ?r?ailo?e - and struggle to get any further.
