I've only just heard about this book 'Cain's Jawbone: A Novel Problem' by The Observer's E P Mathers aka Torquemada. It was first published in 1934 but I think it's being re-released. and I was wondering if anyone had any information or first-hand knowledge about it.

Brendan, think it was re-released about a year ago, I read an interesting article this week in the Telegraph about it and a guy who solved it recently.

It is available to buy from unbound.com

Looks like quite a challenge!

Thanks CandleDave,

I read it was a British comedian making him/her only the third person to solve it, which is pretty amazing considering it's over 80 years old.

Thanks for the link Jono, I really enjoyed it.

To think that the first 2 solvers did it without any Google or Wikipedia - amazing.
