I cannot parse:
'Polish, like one of my lovers might one suppose (4)'
The answer can be derived from the other clues and refers to something we see a lot of in our North Norfolk seaside (and is verb to polish) - but where does the lovers come in?
Any help welcome - we are well into the week now.

Thanks.
