Just thought I would see what methods people use to solve anagrams.

I used to use pen and paper, but now I use Scrabble tiles. I obtain the appropriate letter tiles and start moving them about, and mixing them up. Eventually something clicks and I think "A-ha!" :-)

i write the letters down in a shuffled order and try to pick out relevant words. however if i'm not sure it is actually an anagram and i might be wasting my time, i sometimes put the letters into this site

I think it’s been mentioned before, but the Chambers app has a very useful anagram function.
Scrabble tiles are a great ’analog’ solution, if you look on Rev John Graham’s Wikipedia page there’s a nice picture...

I must admit I am reluctant to use anagram solvers, as that does seem like cheating. But then again, with that thought I guess my use of a crossword dictionary is also cheating. :-)

I've learnt lots of new words by solving crosswords.
If I didn't use aids from time to time I wouldn't discover them!
