This answer is driving me mad it is so small but I cannot get it, please help.

SIM - a card, for your phone, and a game for your computer, phone etc.

Your query prompted me to look up SIM, I couldn't remember what it stood for.

It's Subscriber Identity/Identification Module.

As mobile phones have got more sophisticated, SIM cards have changed too. They've got smaller and smaller.... even fiddlier than they were before!

Isn’t the game called The Sims, or am I thinking of something else?

Jono, yes, I think you're right. I'm sure I bought one of the many, many variations for a nephew's birthday or Christmas.

Sim is in Chambers with 'a contraction of simulation', then 'sim game' follows immediately, 'a computer game that attempts to replicate the sort of events encountered in the real world'.
