Much more fun that last week's joyless trudge, but puzzled by this one.
9a Source of inspiration after retirement perhaps caused bewilderment (7)
Looks like 'bemused', except that 'muse' (source of inspiration) is not after 'bed' (retirement), it is inside it.

Use of the phrases “after retirement” or “before rising” can be used to mean “in bed” so you put the other piece in “BED”

Thank you all...never heard of arrantly before so shall add that to the crossword memory bank!!! After last weeks crossword we had to look up the word loquacious.... our 4 year old went into school telling her teaching "I am loquacious...it means I talk a lot" and won the superstar of the week award for teaching everyone a new word!!! More families should do crosswords....it certainly expands my vocabulary every week!!
