Hi all again

I have been making slow progress, but am stuck on most of the north west corner like FemmeNoire and also on 12ac and possibly 8 ac.

I have D?I?H???R for 12 ac, but it depends on my answer for 8d, in which I have no confidence.

Chris, I'm not sure I understood your hint for 1d, but I think I have the right son.

I've just seen 2d and that has helped get 1ac - I think. So the only one left in the NW corner is 11ac, for which I can see two possible answers, but cannot parse either.

Any hints gratefully received.

Our elderly cat has eaten so much he's gone for a nap and so isn't hassling me by sitting on my laptop.

11a only one of the possibilities has an adult

There are definitely two answers that fit in 11ac, but the one that would come first alphabetically has an ‘adult’ and a movie that also appeared last weekend in Paul’s puzzle!

There’s a hint to 12a in Brendan’s first post (our Brendan, not the setter that is)

I think I've finished. I worked out 11ac and after getting 6d decided where I'd gone wrong in 12ac and filled in the correct answer, which left me with 8d to sort. I've got an answer, but cannot parse it from the clue.

My LOIs were the 19s. Why did it take me so long to get 19d and I don't like 19ac, again I can't parse it.

I've decided I don't like this Brendan and I don't like his clues. I'm still trying to work out the theme answers. I dodn't think I've got any favourites. Bah humbug!

Roof, 19a “mouthpiece” is part of your mouth (inside), around the three lettered word for “aim”

What a great crossword. Took me most of the day in short bursts and with much help from the forum. Looking back, there are so many great clues. Best Prize in a while.
