52 WE KEN is "we're aware" - don't see the ED, though
15 "homophone of "bleak" (desolate) - don't see the O
10 DO for party - does 14 explain LORES?
47 WAY with V in? AY is always - don't see the rest (definition is slang for navy reservists)

The way I see it, 15A is "roundabout" , which is "oblique", and then,
alternatively, "O" for roundabout + BLEAK (desolate).
Incidentally, I'm stuck on these:-
43 Across - "Norwegian lake you can evidently cross by car? "( 5) R-A-D
46 Down - "Begin to go through scale model with this?" (4-3) P-A- --H 53 Across - "One's online business, something tiny, picked up." (9)
--T-O---R
48 Down - "Greek island's conveniently laid on medics." (6) -A---S
21 Across - "Take the 4x4 across the channel." (5) S-I-E

Many thanks, Malone and Son1of rover1 - that's a big help - I hadn't heard of Patmos before. The one left over (53A), looks like being DOTCOMMER - this compiler sure loves his computer terms!

Finished it but without too much pleasure. And 30a is curious as Orlando, according to my reference works, is a name of Italian origin, not Spanish.
