I really enjoyed this and didn't find it too difficult. That said, can I get a parse for...

38a A medley of leguminous trees (4)

I'm sure of my answer which means "a medley" but I don't get the tress part.

Also, do we just work out what the the four corner letters are from the other letter, ie if it is ?POTKICK then it would have to be S, or is there another way that I'm not seeing.

I couldnt parse it either but your answer is right.

Yes you have to deduce the corners

Hi Grunger,

If you put "quite" inside your answer it gives a "leguminous tree"

I really enjoyed it too - particularly working out the perimeter.

Piccadilly's previous one "Shorts" also involved a grid consisting of non-words. These must be very difficult to construct so I would like to thank him very much.

I am enjoying these "easier" puzzles this month.

I am not finding them any easier than normal for those setters but very enjoyable, I agree

Hi Jigjag,

When I say it was easier, of course it's all relative. I was glad the perimeter words were not obscure, there was only one eight letter word that I was unfamiliar with and that isn't in Chambers, but it wasn't too hard to work out, not least because of the 4 letter word that follows it.

Some definitions really astound me, 29d for example, I would never have guessed in a million years that it could mean "reverse side of coin", also 38a meaning "a medley" - every day is most certainly a school day:-)
