Couple I can't parse.

A: Urdu.
Must be some meaning of melon here that I don't know.

10a Repair resort, half damaged (7).
A: Restore.
Is it an anagram of resort? Then where does the extra 'e' come from?

10a. could be half of RESort + TORE, damaged.

1 Gourd, would be the melon, drop the Go +add U, unpleasant at first.

1a. melon = goURD, + U(npleasant)
