Thanks mattrom for the answer, a new one on me.

5d Kind of legal position for player in case (11).
Looks like 'considerate'. I can see 'crate' for case but not the legal position or player.
41a One in haste cut sticks to deliver huge blows (10)
Might be 'hurricanes'. There's 'can' in 'hurries', if that's anything to do with it.
40d Sporting saxe blue cape not such a crime (9)
e-c-s----

SB, 40 D is Excusable, anagram of 'saxe blue' and the C that's the abbreviation for Cape.

41 Hurr(y) I, one + Canes sticks, huge blows.

SB, 5 is Considerate, kind. Onside, legal position for player, inside (in) Crate, case. C onside rate.

Some very strange clues this week.
How does 15 parse NEIGHBOUR?
14. Explosive start setting one back a bit (5) N-T-O. Must be NITRO but how does it parse?
Why is 29 QUEUING?
Why is 21 UNIQUE?

I'd be interested to know.

Stockie, it's always good to give the clues - not everyone will have a copy. I've dug mine out of the recycling...

21 Where we learn which of our neighbours is special (6)
Uni - where we learn
Que- which, in French (our neighbours, country near UK).

14 Intro would have been the 'start, move the first two letters, so Nitro, explosive.

14, Start is "INTRO". Put "one=1" back a bit to get "nitro.

29 In line, getting reading to be picked up.
Queuing, in line, sounds like (to be picked up, heard) Cueing, reading, taking your cue from someone.
